Veterinary Assisting
Caring for creatures great and small.

The continued growth of our nation's pet population has created a strong demand for qualified animal care services, creating thousands of new jobs. Pet owners expect a higher level of care for their animal companions. Apollo College's Veterinary Assisting program provides up-to-date career skills and hands-on experience to prepare our graduates as fully trained animal care professionals. Through our program, students receive instruction in caring for animals under the direction of veterinarians, as well as assisting in the operation of veterinary practices. Essential topics include how to treat illness, mend injuries, improve nutrition and increase the happiness and the life expectancy of animals. Other program subjects range from the basics of routine and emergency care to animal communication and behavior. In short, total-care training for the benefit of pets and their owners.

According to the United States Department of Labor, there is growing demand for VETERINARY ASSISTANTS. It projects a 26% increase between 2002 and 2012*.
