Technician
The Pharmacy
Technician courses at Apollo College provides the technical
and practical training to allow the graduate to work as an
assistant to a licensed pharmacist in both retail and hospital
settings. The program provides the student with extensive
knowledge in pharmaceutical and medical terminology,
abbreviations and symbols used in prescribing, dispensing and
charting of medications and a working knowledge of drug trade
and generic names as well as strengths, dosages, dosage forms
and routes of administration.

Occupational
Therapist
The Certified
Occupational Therapy Assistant works with the Registered
Occupational Therapist as a member of a multi-disciplinary
team to facilitate learning by the client who may have
physical, emotional, or cognitive impairments.
Occupational
Therapy is the therapeutic use of self-care, work, and play
activities to increase independent function, enhance
development, and prevent disability. Occupational Therapy
Assistants play a vital role in teaching compensatory
techniques, assisting with adapting the environment, and
utilizing equipment to improve function of the client.

Respiratory
Therapist
The Respiratory
Therapist course applies scientific knowledge and theory to
practical clinical problems of respiratory care. The
Respiratory Therapist is qualified to assume primary
responsibility for all respiratory care treatments, including
the supervision of Respiratory Therapy Technicians.
At Apollo College,
the knowledge and skills needed by Respiratory Therapists are
taught through formal lecture, laboratory, and clinical
instruction. The Respiratory Therapist course is designed to
train entry level Respiratory Therapists who meet nationally
accepted standards for practitioners in the field.
The Respiratory
Therapist programs at Apollo College are accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education
Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on
Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The program at the
Phoenix Campus has been placed on probationary accreditation
as of October 15, 1999.
